Looking 4 Myself - Part 1

Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter but it is the glory of kings to search it out.

You are welcome to the February edition of STRETCH YOUTH SUMMIT. In this month of February, we will be looking into the issue of Looking 4 Myself (The quest for LOVE).

In the month of January, we dealt with the issue of You vs. Yourself (The War Zone). We were able to establish that you are where you are today because you allowed it. We also dealt with the issue of shifting blames, accusation, and making excuses. We looking into the scriptures and discovered that it’s God’s desire for His children to be responsible and accountable for his words, decision and attitude.

This month, from our text Proverbs 25:2 – we need to understand that ‘Myself’ is the function of your divine purpose for existence. I want you to understand that God’s plan for you is for you to become the original you. You were not created to walk in any body’s shadow. You were not created to settle for less or dwell in intimidation. You were created as a priority and not an option.

The greatest question to deal with today is – who am I?

I have been a victim of this too. We all grew up looking at the society, social media, superstars, actors, actress, professions etc… as a guild for defining ourselves, our values and priority. We have set ourselves on a race God has not intended for our lives. We are daily struggling to fit into the standard the society out there have set for us to fit in. we daily fight to become the expectations of our parents, uncle, family members, etc… yet the more we become their own definition of success, we still feel empty and  unfulfilled.

We have been conformed to the options, expectations and desire of humans, mentors, role models and people we hold in high esteem. In this generation, success is not the problem, the problem is accuracy. All we have gained and becoming, is this what God has planned for your life or this is what people actually motivated you to do? The present relationship you are in now, do you ask God for direction or you followed the instruction of the people you held in high esteem?

Look around you and you will see successful people yet struggling. You will see a man or lady in a so called flourishing relationship yet unfulfilled. You will see people in wealth yet no peace of mind. The devil is not the problem neither is the economy of your country the problem. The problem here is the wrong identity and beliefs you have cultivated through the people around you. This identity of yours, is this another image of your self or this is the original identity God created you to become? All you believe presently; are they what people wanted you to believe or this is the truth God wanted you to believe?

Looking 4 ‘my self’ is the focus. My self is about me and yourself is about you. Your self is the original you God have ordained you to be and become. Your self is the reality of your purpose for existence. It’s all about purpose. What is purpose? Purpose is the original reason behind the creation of a product or a creature. Before God formed you into your mother’s womb, there was a specific plan in God’s mind for creating you. There was a specific desire or expectation in God’s mind, your creation was programmed to bring into fulfillment. It’s specific, detailed, and it has a unique pattern designed for you and you alone in this entire world.

To be continued.

Your Life, Relationships, and Resources Belong to God

Stewardship is more than managing money; it’s about recognizing that everything you are and everything you have belongs to God. Your life, time, relationships, and even your emotions are divine trusts, not personal possessions. Psalm 24:1 reminds us, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” When you understand this truth as a youth, it changes how you make choices, treat people, and handle opportunities. In dating and relationships, stewardship means honoring God with your heart and choices. You don’t date to fill loneliness; you date to reflect purpose. Your emotions should be guided by wisdom, not impulse. When you see your partner as someone God trusts you to treat with dignity, purity, and patience, your approach changes. You begin to love responsibly and communicate with respect, knowing you’ll give an account for how you handle another person’s heart. For singles, stewardship includes how you use your time and gifts while waiting. Every ...

Youths and Emotional Boundaries

In today’s culture where emotions often lead and convictions take the backseat, many singles and youths find themselves entangled in relationships that slowly pull them away from God rather than draw them closer. It’s easy to get swept up in the excitement of romantic attention and companionship, but without clear spiritual boundaries, you may end up sacrificing your devotion, purity, and even your purpose. The truth is, who you allow into your heart can either fan the flame of your love for God or quietly quench it. Not every connection is meant to carry you forward in your spiritual journey. Some are weights, not wings. God has standards—not to restrict us, but to protect us. Maintaining spiritual boundaries means deciding ahead of time that your walk with God will not be compromised for temporary affection or unguided passion. It’s choosing prayer over pressure, purpose over pleasure, and worship over wandering emotions. When you begin to sense that a relationship is making you too ...

Time, Talents, and Treasures: Ticket For True Love

Before stepping into a relationship, it’s important to pause and reflect on what God has already placed in your care—your time, your talents, and your treasures. These three areas shape how you live, love, and lead in purpose. The way you handle them as a single person reveals how prepared you are to love rightly and build a purposeful relationship. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” Your single season is not a waiting room; it’s a building ground. How you invest your time now—through prayer, learning, service, and self-growth—determines your readiness for love later. If you waste your time chasing validation or distractions, you may carry emotional emptiness into the next phase of your life. Redeem your time by prioritizing what strengthens your relationship with God and your purpose. Your talents are divine gifts meant to be discovered and developed before you share your life with someone else. Matthew 25:14-30 teaches abo...
