Love becomes unhealthy when one person constantly tears down the dignity of the other. In dating relationships, emasculating a man through insults, comparison, public embarrassment or constant belittling weakens trust instead of building love. God calls relationships to be places where honour is protected. "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." (Philippians 2:3, KJV)
Emasculation does not happen only through harsh words. It can appear when every decision is dismissed, every effort is mocked or every mistake is used as a weapon. Correction should restore, not humiliate.
Some people repeat this pattern because of past pain, negative experiences or harmful narratives they have embraced. A man's worth should not be measured by his income, status or ability to meet unrealistic expectations. Are your words building confidence or breaking it?
If you are single and dating, create a culture of honour from the beginning. Speak with respect, appreciate genuine effort and address conflicts without attacking identity. Healthy love allows both people to grow without stripping away dignity.
Restoring love order means rejecting contempt and choosing honour. When respect becomes the language of a relationship, trust grows, communication improves and both people become stronger as they pursue God's purpose together.
