What is unmasking your past?
Unmasking your past is the ability to accept and own your past, without any thoughts or ideas of abandoning them, or denying them as part of your existence. It is the ability of your refusal to be ashamed of them. It is the ability of you to recognize them as part of your journey which will constantly hold a clue to the interpretation of your present and your future.
This is a journey and a mindset that reveals today is the child of the past. Everybody has a past that is mixed with things they are proud of and things that looks shameful to be made known in public. Nevertheless, no human can claim innocent in this area of the subject. As bad as some of our past might be, they contributed to this amazing us that we are becoming daily
How is this unmasking of the past in nature?
It is a deliberate decision of anyone who has decided to accept their past with the credit or blame that comes with them as his or her full responsibility. It is the absence of shifting blame or making excuses. It is a display of humility, accountability, and honesty to yourself.
It is the ability of you to drop every blame and admits to the fact that you are a sole contributor (directly or indirectly) to any of your past that happened. It is in your observation to identify what you did wrong, how you did it, what made you do it, and where you missed it... irrespective of the influence of any other person the contributed to the events of your past.
It is you identify where your ignorance implicated you. It is you identifying where your stubbornness implicated you. It is you identifying where being honest and truthful is implicated. It is you paying attention to the whole details surrounding your past. IT IS YOU PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT YOU DIDN'T DO. IT IS YOU PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT YOU DID. In this is a place you learn, the first person to blame is yourself. The first person to appreciate is yourself. The first person to forgive is yourself.
This is a step of maturity learning the wisdom that every outcome of your life was EITHER YOUR CHOICE OR YOUR FAULT... even thou you are realizing it now.
It is you Admitting your faults and the success of your past. It is about you Looking in the mirror and being honest about your mistake and success. Own your part, and leave it to others to own theirs. Proverbs 28:13, James 5:16.
